The song was released as the first and only single from their fourth album "Aftermath" in 1966 In later years this song became a poster child for the Vietnam War.

Paint it Black has been used in tons of Television shows as well as Hollywood Movies. This tune has been covered by at least a hundred other acts, the most notable is by Eric Burdon and the Animals (1967) and Eric Burdon and War (1970). Maybe one day you can hear Jay and Bills version
